Broadway Gift Cards

Short Answer

There is no single "Broadway gift card." Each card works only through the company that sells it: a Broadway.com Gift Card only on Broadway.com, a TKTS eGift Card only at the TKTS booths, and a TodayTix gift card only on TodayTix. Before buying, check which seller actually sells the show the recipient wants, then buy that seller's card.

Checked October 2026 against Broadway.com, the Broadway.com Gift Card terms, TDF's TKTS eGift Card page and TodayTix.

Which Broadway Gift Cards Are There?

Here's what each one actually covers, with every point sourced to the issuer's own page.

Broadway.com Gift Card

• Where it works: Any Broadway or Off-Broadway show currently playing in New York City that's sold through Broadway.com. Purchases with the card can only be made through Broadway.com.
• Expiry: Does not expire.
• Delivery: By email, to the recipient or the purchaser.
• Good to know: The card may be refunded to the purchaser and reissued if lost. Its terms state that value can't be added to the card after purchase.

TKTS eGift Card

• Where it works: In person only, at TDF's TKTS booths in Times Square and at Lincoln Center. Not valid for online use or at TKTS booths in other cities.
• Expiry: Not stated on the pages we checked.
• Delivery: Not stated on the pages we checked.
• Good to know: TKTS only sells same-day performances and next-day matinees in person, so this card only helps if the recipient can visit a booth. See our TKTS guide for how the booths work.

TodayTix Gift Card

• Where it works: Broadway, Off-Broadway, concerts and live events across the U.S., redeemable for any show listed on TodayTix.
• Expiry: No expiration date. The balance carries over.
• Delivery: By email, arriving at checkout.
• Good to know: Can't be combined with another gift card, voucher, or promotional code, and TodayTix can't apply one retroactively to a past purchase.

Telecharge

Telecharge (Shubert Ticketing) also sells a Broadway gift card. We couldn't confirm its terms, so check where it can be used and whether it expires on Telecharge's own page before buying.

How to Choose

These are our suggestions, not a ranking, matched to the situation.

If the recipient lives in or near New York City and likes spontaneous plans, a TKTS eGift Card fits well, since it's built for in-person, same-day booth visits.

If they already have a specific show in mind, check which seller sells tickets to that show, then buy that seller's card instead of guessing. For other gift ideas beyond a card, we suggest books, music or memorabilia tied to a favorite show.

If you don't know the show yet, pick a card that won't expire before they decide. Broadway.com and TodayTix are both verified as non-expiring. We couldn't confirm this either way for TKTS.

Before You Buy

Our suggestion: before buying any card, open the show's official website and see where it sends you to buy tickets. Then buy that seller's card, or one that seller accepts.

If budget matters more than a specific show, our lottery guide is a separate way to save. If you're buying for the holidays, our Christmas musicals guide covers what's actually on this season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a Broadway gift card at the box office?

We didn't find an issuer that states its card works directly at a Broadway show's box office. Broadway.com's card works only through Broadway.com, and TKTS eGift Cards work only in person at TDF's own TKTS booths, not at individual theatres.

Do Broadway gift cards expire?

Broadway.com and TodayTix gift cards don't expire, according to each issuer. We couldn't confirm this either way for TKTS, and we couldn't confirm Telecharge's terms at all.

Can I use these gift cards outside New York?

TodayTix gift cards work for shows and events "across the U.S.," according to TodayTix. Broadway.com's FAQ describes its card for shows currently playing in New York City, and TKTS eGift Cards work only at the two TKTS booths in New York.

Can I combine a gift card with a promo code or another gift card?

Not on TodayTix: its support page states gift cards and vouchers "cannot be combined with any other gift card, voucher code, or promotional code," and can't be applied retroactively. We didn't check this for the other issuers.
